What is Virtual Reality?

Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) take us to another place or level of awareness. The purpose of using these technologies is to make us feel like we are transported to a different place. Augmented reality refers to computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data that becomes part of an existing environment, whereas virtual reality immerses users into an entirely computer-generated world or environment that can be interacted with in real time.

Communication Through Virtual Reality

Classrooms can now use virtual reality to help students with social and emotional skills. Virtual reality has an impressive track record of helping students with autism and ADHD, as well as those with special needs. The reason behind it is that virtual environments give them a safe space where they can practice their communication skills before putting them into practice on a real-life situation. It also improves their social skills by making them aware of what they should do next so as not to offend others.
